Allanah Jarman

Allanah was in the first Guild Theatre production (Quality Street, directed by the Founding Director, Hazel Plant) in 1966. She was also the 1983 production of Crown Matrimonial directed by Norman Brown and more recently in Crown Matrimonial directed by Chris Searle, this time as Queen Mary. She has been involved and has performed in many productions over the years. Her favourites include Quartet, Cemetery Club, Steel Magnolias, and The Importance of Being Earnest. Her all time favourite role is Florence Foster Jenkins in Glorious, a role she has been fortunate to do twice, first with Cronulla Arts Theatre (where she has also been a member and performed over many years), and later with the Northern Beaches Eleanora Players.

As a trained singer and dancer Allanah has also been involved with various musical theatre societies over her career with recent productions being confined to Miranda Musical Society where, she says ‘pre-Covid, there fortunately have been vacancies for mature-aged women!’

Allanah returned to Sydney University in February to start a Diploma in Ancient Greek. She says ‘This will test the mature brain, if learning all the lines for Queen Mary didn’t!’.
