Brett Van Heekeren

Brett’s first serious brush with performance was as a theatre student at Charles Sturt University, but whilst he pursued a career in radio he always continued to maintain his theatre practice.

Brett’s first production for the Guild was 2023’s Love Letters and he returns for this year’s production of Gulls.

In Bathurst he was involved as a performer, director and administrator for the Bathurst Theatre Company. Productions included, Farley Hamilton – Inheritance, Mr. Pisano – Summer of the Aliens, Wakefield – Holy Day and he directed Salome and The Censor. Brett also performed in a production of Blokes Don’t Talk and directed another production.

Brett has also performed with Bathurst Shakespeare Players in various productions, Don John – Much Ado About Nothing, Dromio – A Comedy of Errors, Duke Senior – As You Like It, Macbeth – Macbeth and Shylock – The Merchant of Venice. In 2021 he was the Artistic Director for the Bathurst Shakespeare Players production of The Tempest.

In recent years he has been an active member of the Carillion Theatrical Society performing as Fagin – Oliver and Max – Sound of Music.
