Leo Bosi

Our Town will be Leo’s first show for The Guild Theatre. The says that size of the cast has been an interesting deviation from some of his previous experiences in theatre, which had markedly fewer people involved, but that same fact has introduced him to more members than he might have seen if the production had been smaller.

Apart from acting, Leo’s creative outlets include performing and composing music. He composed and performed several of the tracks of incidental music that the audience will hear through the show.

Leo also likes writing fiction in several forms including film, theatre scripts, and short prose. In addition to all of these talents, Leo is studying science because in spite of the common narrative that a person is left or right brained, he prefers to ask ‘why not both?’

‘I’ve only been a member of The Guild for a few months now, but I’ve been made to feel at home by the welcoming members of the cast and crew.’ – Leo Bosi

Leo’s Town

‘I grew up in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, which has transformed over time into a fast-paced, jogging, Instagramming, latte-sipping tourist destination. But there still linger remnants of a smaller, more intimate kind of living that existed before my time: the local post office still miraculously has real people standing behind the counter, and there are still centres where the community gathers to partake in various collective activities (now under renovation). The Joe Crowells and Constable Warrens must still exist somewhere – someone still delivers a physical newspaper to my door every morning, and you can spot pairs of police wandering around public areas on any crowded day. The difference between then and now being that now, perhaps, we take less notice of these people; less notice of a town as an entity in and of itself, instead seeing it merely as a location where one’s place of residence is located. Is that a bad thing? Not sure. But at least for now you can still find an angle where my home town looks less like a jumble of many individuals who happen to live in the same place and more like – well – a town, I suppose.’
